The United Tripura Correspondent Anupam Pal Agartala : The Tripura Pradesh Congress organized a Raj Bhavan march to protest against the corruption of the Central Government and its favoritism toward corporate giants. This mass deputation program was conducted across the country, including Tripura, under the directive of the All India Congress Committee.
Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha accused the BJP government of destroying the nation’s economy and stripping citizens of their rights. He said, “This government is trying to sell the country to Adani and Ambani. It has completely failed to protect the interests of workers, farmers, laborers, and other common people.”
He further pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on critical issues such as Adani’s financial fraud and the ethnic violence in Manipur is questionable. He remarked that even though Manipur has been witnessing unrest for 18 months, the Prime Minister has not visited the state even once.
The protest march began in front of the Agartala Press Club and culminated at the Circuit House, where a meeting was held. Leaders from various wings of the Pradesh Congress addressed the gathering during the event.
Congress leader Ashish Kumar Saha emphasized, “To save the country from economic disaster, the people must unite. Through Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra (Solidarity March), we are reaching out to the common people, and they are placing their trust in us. In the coming days, public opinion will be mobilized across the country to oust the BJP and Modi government from power.”
Today’s program saw the participation of prominent leaders of the Pradesh Congress, including MLA Sudip Roy Barman, senior advocate Piyush Kanti Biswas, former MLA Dibachandra Rangkhawl, and leaders and supporters from various Congress wings.
