The body of Bipul Shabdakar (47), a temporary municipal employee, was recovered this morning from Kataldighi, located in the heart of Kailashahar. The incident has caused a stir across the town.
According to local sources, Bipul Shabdakar lived alone in the Bimal Singh Complex in Ward No. 1. He had not been seen in the area for the past two days. This morning, locals noticed his body floating in the pond, attracting a crowd at the site.
Police from Kailashahar station arrived at the scene and recovered the body, sending it to Unakoti District Hospital for post-mortem examination. This incident in the town’s central area has created a sense of fear among residents. Many have demanded that the footage from the government-installed CCTV cameras around Kataldighi be reviewed to uncover the truth.
The police have stated that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report. They have already initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. However, such an incident in a busy part of the town has raised concerns about public safety.
