Organized by the Lok Sanskriti Sangha and in collaboration with Kailashahar Municipal Council, the two-day state-level Folk Festival 2025 commenced today at the ITI ground. The cultural event was inaugurated this evening at 7 PM by Tinku Roy, Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Department. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Unakoti District President(Jila Parishad) Amalendu Das, Additional District Magistrate Argha Saha, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pradip Sarkar, and Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapala Deb Roy. Several cultural personalities and local dignitaries were also present at the event.
While addressing the audience, Minister Tinku Roy said, “Folk music has a deep connection with Tripura’s culture. It is an integral part of our folk traditions. This event will not only showcase the cultural heritage of the state but also instill a sense of cultural awareness among the people.” He further expressed hope that the festival would become a major attraction for the culture enthusiasts of the state.
The primary aim of this Folk Festival is to promote and preserve the folk music of Tripura. During these two days, Folk artists from various parts of the state will perform their art. Additionally, Folkl music will convey messages of harmony and unity among the people.
This state-level Folkl Festival is not just a cultural celebration but also plays a crucial role in enriching the traditional art forms of Tripura. The inaugural day has already created excitement among the audience, and culture enthusiasts are hopeful that the second day’s event will be equally successful.
