The 54th Statehood Day was celebrated with great dignity under the initiative of the Unakoti District Administration, in collaboration with the District Education Department and Kailashahar Municipal Council. On this occasion, a colorful rally was organized on Tuesday, January 21, which became even more vibrant with the participation of students from various schools in Kailashahar. The rally started from the PM Shri Radhakishore Institution Ground, traversed through the main roads of the town, and concluded at Unakoti Kalakshetra.
Following the rally, a special program was organized at Unakoti Kalakshetra. The event was inaugurated by Deepak Ranjan Pal, Councillor of Kailashahar Municipal Council, while the chief guest was Beni Madhav Chakraborty, OSD of the District Education Department. Other notable attendees included Biswajit Deb, Deputy Director of the District Information and Cultural Department; Nitish Biswas, Headmaster of PM Shri Radhakishore Institution; and Asim Chakraborty, Headmaster of Ramkrishna Shiksha Pratishthan. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Beni Madhav Chakraborty.
In his speech, Beni Madhav Chakraborty remarked, “On January 21, 1972, Tripura transitioned from a Union Territory to a full-fledged state. This day marks a proud chapter in the state’s history, symbolizing the constitutional rights, administrative framework, and development of Tripura’s people.”
The event’s inaugurator, Deepak Ranjan Pal, advised the students to focus on their studies with discipline and perseverance, emphasizing that achieving excellence would help propel the state and nation forward.
At the end of the program, a debate competition was organized for the participating students, providing them with a unique opportunity to enhance their creativity and self-confidence.
The 54th Statehood Day celebration not only reflects the heritage and history of Tripura but also serves as a bright example of the state’s unity, culture, and progress. The people of the district believe that this celebration will instill pride and a sense of responsibility toward the state in every participant and attendee.
