Kailashahar turned tense amid preparations for the 21st State Conference of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI). A group of miscreants deliberately tore down flags and posters that had been placed across various parts of the city last night. According to eyewitnesses, the police were present during the incident but allegedly remained inactive.
Upon hearing of the incident, CPI(M) workers strongly protested. They claimed the attackers acted with political intent to sabotage the upcoming conference.
SFI leaders stated that miscreants from outside the 53rd Assembly constituency were involved, supported by a malicious political group. Political analysts, however, believe this is more than just an act of vandalism—fearing the rise of student support, opposition forces are trying to spread fear and confusion in the city.
