A “Constitution Pride Day Workshop” was organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Chandipur Mandal Committee in the Chandipur Assembly Constituency of Kailashahar Subdivision, Unakoti District. The workshop was held on January 16 at 11 AM in the field adjacent to United Club. Social Education and Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, Chandipur Mandal President Pintu Ghosh, Chandipur Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Sampa Das Pal, BJP State Committee Member Bimal Kar, and District Committee Vice President Sushanta Sinha, among other distinguished personalities, graced the occasion.
The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Minister Tinku Roy, along with other esteemed guests, inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp.
In his welcome address, Chandipur Mandal President Pintu Ghosh highlighted the significance of Constitution Pride Day. He emphasized that this day is dedicated to honoring the values of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. He further stated that the Constitution serves as the foundation of national unity and the cornerstone of democratic principles. He urged everyone present to better understand and uphold the essence of the Constitution.
Minister Tinku Roy, in his speech, shed light on important issues related to the Constitution and Kashmir. He mentioned that for a long time, Article 370 was enforced in Kashmir, which became a cause of deprivation for the Hindu minority. They were denied the right to buy or sell land and were compelled to become refugees, spreading across different parts of the country. On the other hand, the Muslim majority in Kashmir could freely buy land, conduct business, and live without any restrictions. He added that Article 370 forced many Hindus in Kashmir to leave their homeland.
The Minister also remembered the contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. He praised Dr. Ambedkar for drafting a progressive and equality-based Constitution after independence. However, he criticized the previous Congress-led governments for failing to honor him appropriately and for neglecting to bestow the Bharat Ratna upon him.
The “Constitution Pride Day Workshop” was lauded as an important initiative to create awareness about the core principles of the Constitution and the responsibilities of citizens. The speakers stressed the importance of preserving the glory of the Constitution and ensuring its proper implementation.
This workshop was recognized as a meaningful effort to pay tribute to the Constitution and educate the younger generation about its significance.
