Kailashahar Anupam Pal:The state-level Atal Poetry and Literature Festival is set to begin tomorrow at the Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar, Unakoti district. Organized by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, this year marks the second edition of the festival, which will see participation from renowned poets and writers from within and outside the state.
Ahead of the festival, a vibrant procession was held today on the streets of the city, enlivened by the participation of various schools, cultural and social organizations, and local residents. The procession was graced by the presence of state cabinet member Tinku Roy, Unakoti Zilla Parishad Chairperson Amolendu Das, Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, among other notable dignitaries.
Speaking about the event, Subrata Chakraborty said, “This festival will play a significant role in fostering the literary and cultural consciousness of the state.”
The inaugural ceremony will feature Minister for Social Education and Social Welfare Tinku Roy as the chief guest, alongside special guests like Assam’s Sahitya Akademi Award winner Diganta Biswas Sharma and Tripura’s pride, S. Gambhini.
The organizers expressed hope that this event would inspire the youth to take an interest in literature and culture and provide a platform for the state’s literary talents to gain national and international recognition.
