Kailashahar: Today, a blood donation camp was organized at Unakoti Kalakshetra, Kailashahar Subdivision, Unakoti district, under the initiative of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Alumni Association and with the support of Ilogitron Technologies. The camp was inaugurated by Tinku Roy, Minister of Social Education and Social Welfare, Government of Tripura. Also present were Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapala Debroy, Vice-Chairperson Nitish Dey, Dr. Papia Sinha, Kailashahar Blood Donors Association President Anupam Pal, along with other distinguished personalities.
The event was ceremonially inaugurated by watering a sapling by Minister Tinku Roy and other guests. The primary objective of the camp was to assist critically ill patients in need of blood through the generosity of donors.
Dr. Papia Sinha delivered the welcome speech, emphasizing the necessity of blood donation and explaining how a single unit of blood can save the lives of three critically ill patients. She raised awareness among attendees about the importance of donating blood.
Minister Tinku Roy, in his speech, highlighted the significance of blood donation and lauded the Kendriya Vidyalaya Alumni Association for their initiative. He expressed gratitude for their sense of social responsibility and their effort to organize such events.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Alumni Association honored 47-year-old forest department employee Ardhendu Bikash Das for donating blood 57 times. A total of 18 donors participated in today’s camp, including a noteworthy presence of women and first-time donors.
Such initiatives create awareness about the importance of blood donation and contribute to saving lives, earning praise from all sections of society.
