On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, U.S. President Donald Trump extended his greetings. Along with congratulating him over a phone call, Trump also emphasized strengthening ties between the two nations. Prime Minister Modi himself shared the news on social media.
Modi wrote, “Thank you, my friend President Trump, for calling to wish me on my 75th birthday. We are committed to making India-U.S. relations more comprehensive and taking them to greater heights at the global level.” He also expressed India’s full support for the initiative taken by Trump to peacefully resolve the Ukraine conflict.
It is noteworthy that the imposition of tariffs on Indian products and diplomatic tensions over the past few years had created rifts in India-U.S. relations. However, experts believe that this gesture of goodwill between Modi and Trump could open up a new chapter in the future of bilateral ties.
