The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with due dignity, enthusiasm, and fervor in the district headquarters of Kailashahar, Unakoti. From the morning, the occasion began with the hoisting of the national flag at various houses, offices, educational institutions, clubs, Kargil Corner, government and non-government establishments, as well as at the offices of different political parties.
The main program of the day was held at the Ramakrishna College Stadium in Kailashahar. On this occasion, the national flag was hoisted by Tripura Government’s Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Tinku Roy.
Among those present at the event were Unakoti Zilla Parishad Chairman Amolendu Das, District Magistrate Dr. Tamal Majumdar, Superintendent of Police Sudhambika R, Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapla Debroy, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bipul Das, along with other administrative officials and distinguished personalities.
Following the flag hoisting, the main program was completed at the Ramakrishna College Stadium. After the event, Minister Tinku Roy visited the district jail, where he distributed sweets among the inmates.
